Color makes me happy!
Having children opened up a whole new world of color for me. Take a stroll through my home or studio seven years ago and you’ll find all sorts of shades of white, cream and grey balanced with warm honey wood tones. But what you won’t find is much color. Simple, clean and sparse was my personal and professional style and in many ways still is, but fast-forward to today and my life after four children is anything but neutral. Before starting Bird + Bear Boutique I co-owned a custom wedding stationery company for eight years. I had Christopher (now 15) and then Harris (now 13) all the while designing stationery in lovely variations of cream and white. But over the years I have been slowly surrounded by color. My children’s clothing, backpacks, lunch boxes, and gallery of artwork was full of color. In 2012 we welcomed twins Benjamin and Rachel (now 10). During this time, at home with my husband and four joyful kids I began to daydream about what I wanted to do next. It only seemed natural that I would start to create for my children and from this blossomed Bird + Bear Boutique. I take great care in the designs and playthings I create. Spending time discovering new fabrics and working with amazing colors has made me happy. I hope what I create makes my customers happy too!
